The BYL Story

About Broadcast Your Love

Cultivating Community Partnerships and Cutting Edge Communication Skills Development

Where we came from: Broadcast your Love (BYL) is a 501 © 3 under the fiscal umbrella of the Austin Community Foundation. It was founded in 2015 to continue the community work of journalist Thea E. Williams-Douglas; the inspiration behind BYL.

Thea E. Williams-Douglas was a skilled professional who spent fifteen years as an Executive Producer of television morning and midday newscasts. She was also a mother. And, whenever she could, she offered her skills and support to help underserved communities; teaching class at the local community college.

After battling for over a year with breast cancer, Thea sadly died in [2010]; leaving a legacy of love, integrity, loyalty and faith which her sister, Marcia Williams calls upon to drive the mission and vision of BYL forward.

Where we are going: Marcia Williams is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She is an experienced and connected communications professional with an energy matched only by her passion for developing the communication skills of young people from underserved communities.

In her professional career, Marcia has helped numerous companies and organizations develop their brand identity. Personally, she continues to serve corporations and non-profit organizations in their efforts to increase engagement and build communities.

Today, Marcia has taken up the challenge to deliver the vision she shared with her sister Thea. A vision to create a life rich in integrity, loyalty and faith.
